New appliance arriving & nobody mentioned the wiring?

It happens constantly. The oven turns up, the delivery driver leaves it in the middle of the kitchen, & the install sheet says it needs a dedicated circuit that the house doesn’t have.

Anything that draws real current needs its own circuit sized for the job. An induction cooktop on wiring meant for a gas hob is the reason the board keeps tripping on a Sunday night.

Why the circuit matters more than the appliance

A good appliance on an undersized circuit will nuisance trip, run hot & wear out early. It’s also the most common reason a brand new kitchen has a problem in its first fortnight.

We check what the appliance actually needs against what’s in the wall, upgrade the circuit where it doesn’t add up, & test it under load before we go.
